Skype 3 Beta
I’m having a tough couple of days. The change in weather and the cold
snap has been difficult. So, please keep me in your prayers.
As I have been lounging around eating my bon-bons, I came across a review of the Skype 3 Beta. I am excited about the recording integration.
I don’t use Skype as much as some of you. So, let me know your experience with this update.
NOTE: 12/4/06 - looks like I got this wrong. As a poster pointed out, the integration is within Pamela and NOT within Skype. I re-read the article and that is in fact what is discussed. Reading comprehension has never been my strong suit. Still, I am interested in your thoughts on v3.0

misleading header that Sebastian writes though , looks more like something to draw a crowd then a title for a substantial story. Skype does NOT have a record button , a third party peace of software that WORKS TOGETHER with skype DOES. This application is not included by default nor is it free . When going to the Pamela site we read the following : “Skype Call Recording now in all Pamela versions!” So it is in fact Skype- recording that is included in Pamela instead of the other way around. So is this (once again) a sensational title, bordering on the edge of deception in order to generate traffic ? His submission of this particular story to digg does point in that direction.

I was confused as well. I’m a Pamela user, and it’s a nice piece of software, but it’s third party. Not the same as having skype record. I do like some of the new features and look of Skype 3, but had some trouble recording. I had to download a couple upgrades, but haven’t had a chance to really use it since then.
A question about Skype I have is, the free outgoing skype was scheduled to stop being free at the end of the year. Is that still their deadline?

What I love most about Skype version 3 (beta) is the integrated Skypecast functions….
THAT is gonna change the world!
You’ll see…
(when it becomes the official release version)
