The other day I received a package in the mail. It was a certificate and letter. It read, in part:

The Communications Arts Department of Franciscan University of Steubenville wants to affirm and honor you for your work in promoting, supporting, and producing programs in Catholic podcasting and consultation in Catholic radio. Your work is very important to expanding Catholic communication and evangelization through new media. There’s much more to do, and we thank you for your ministry to the Church.

As announced on May 20, 2007, World Communications Day, our department expresses its appreciation to you and these other persons as leaders and representatives of Catholics from different backgrounds who are sharing their faith through podcasting and new media:

I was surprised and very gratified by the recognition. I am pleased that the work I have done has been of assistance to others and to the Church. I especially congratulate the others who received this recognition. They are all tremendously gifted and continue to teach me about our craft on a continuous basis.
