I have been wondering why there is only Podcast User Magazine occupying the ‘podspace’ in publishing. There have been at least two other mags that just never seem to have gotten their act together to get much beyond issue 1. Still, something as hot as podcasting should have generated more magazines, ezines, and the like. Why only one? The reason, well, there’s more than one.

I discovered it in a round about way while ‘thumbing’ my way through issue #17 of Podcast User Magazine. I followed a link from the mag through an ad for the Podcast and New Media Expo and while on that site came across Blogger and Podcaster Magazine.

Sure, podcasting takes second fiddle, but the magazine is rather kewl. There are articles from and about the top names in new media. In thumbing through it, I was struck by the large number of articles I wanted to read. What’s great about the mag is there are three ways to consume it and two of them are free. The first is the online version, which is available for online viewing. I did not see a way to download the content. There is also free podcast. They divide the columns, articles, and such into separate episodes. I’m looking forward to giving a few a listen. You can either subscribe via iTunes or listen from the site. There is also an option to get a physical subscription for $79/12 issues (one year).

It is a welcome addition to the podspace. I hope you give them a look. Let me know what you think.
