Date: February 05, 2006Hey Gang, hope everyone is doing well. It's been a while since Sarah and I were able to produce a new podcast and I was starting to get the shakes...so, we decided to do two in the same night! Yep, it's a bonus CMP cast filled with your emails, discussion on the US Supreme Court and our thoughts regarding a fellow CMPer's situation at work. Two web sites were mentioned in this podcast:HERE is the link to Julie's Happy Catholic Blog. She's got a great site with tons of interesting reading for all to enjoy. Including her conversion story. (Sorry Julie that I was not able to access it during the recording of the show, although I do see that it's back up now...)Next is one of the original CMP listeners, Brad. HERE is the link to his blog. This is not only an interesting blog which follows his relationship with his LDS girlfriend, but also a great resource for Catholic Apologetics.

Catholic Rockers (Podcast Info)
I had the pleasure of interviewing Flip, Kyle and Paul of Point 5 Covenant. They recently released their first CD "Listen. Learn." Keeping true to themselves, and true to the fire for Christ that was lit in them, along with a little encouragement from DuST of Phatmass.com, Flip and Kyle a.k.a. J and Moses started representing their Catholic faith in their lyrics. We'll hear about all this and much more in this episode of Catholic Rockers.
Check out their website at Point5Covenant.com or catch them over at Phatmass.com.

Bonus Feed - The DwM Roundtable
This is what you might call the pilot for a whole new show. Greg and Jennifer Willits of the Rosary Army , Michael Kreidler of the BreadCast and I got together to discuss Catholic podcasting. Well at least we talked about it part of the time, between the laughs and bad movie quotes.
We talk a little tech, a little hope, and a whole lot of fun. This is the first in what we hope will be many more DwM Roundtables to discuss Catholic podcasting, so of the hows, and some of the whys. We started with 3 connections to test things out, and will add more participants, keep juggling the line-up around, but will always include some fun.

Figuring out Lent and Easter
Date: February 24, 2006
In preparation for the upcoming time of Lent in the Catholic Church, let us meditate upon the Icon of the Awesome Judgment of God. This is one of the more complicated icons we have looked at with images both of the general and particular judgements present in Matthew 25 and Revelation 20.
This Lenten time is valuable both for moving away from those things which seek to distract our attention from God and moving toward those things which guide us into greater love for our neighbor. Reflecting upon the many messages contained in this icon can be useful in accomplishing both of those goals.
For a different representation of this icon in which the words of the Gospel of Matthew are clearly visible, visit this link.
For more information about the Orthodox Church's understanding of toll houses, visit this link.

On this episode of Catholic:Under The Hood, I talk about watching scary movies. We look at some of the odd news stories since last episode as well as a couple of inspiring stories and talk about some future ideas for Catholic:Under The Hood as well as listen to some listener mail.
Our special focus for this episode is the Sacrament of Penance as seen from the perspective of the priest and how it can be terrifying and incredibly awesome at the same time.

You'll also want to download the LAME.DLL
Another free piece of software mentioned is TagScanner to help with ID3 tags.

The Roundtable
This week I wanted to try something new. Contacted a few of my cursillo pals, and invited them to try a roundtable discussion over the internet on Gizmo. Well, the quality wasn't so good, but the Spirit was there as we discussed what Cursillo meant to our lives. I was joined by Mr. Ken Graff and Mr. Sean Kessler. Also a big shout out to Mr. Chris Leger who was on the call at the right time, but got off just before I got on. (Hint-Never lay down when you put your kids to sleep!)
