Conversations with Father Bob (Podcast Info)
World War II veteran Harley Healy tells Fr. Bob his story of coming into the Catholic Church at age 82. Harley has been married for 60 years to his devoutly Catholic wife and supported her in raising their children in the Catholic faith. Harley started praying to God when Harley's grandson, Marshall, was sent to Afghanistan. In thanksgiving for his safe return Harley decided to go to church. He felt so welcome at St. Barbara's Church in Black Diamond, that he decided to become Catholic.

Volunteers at the parish help pregnant women with grocery shopping, babysitting, house cleaning and other practical tasks. They work in partnership with Catholic Community Services and they are willing to train volunteers from other parishes who would like to start a similar program.

Paul has provided music at various parishes around the archdiocese for over twenty five years. He currently is the director for two adult choirs, a children's choir and a teen ensemble. Listen in as he discusses the purpose of liturgical music and how it has changed over the years.
Date: May 11, 2008Jeannie Berwick volunteers her time as the director of One Equal Heart Foundation, an organization established to support the Jesuit Mission for indigenous rights in Chiapas, Mexico. The Tseltal people have many needs. The focus of the foundation is to help the people with long range solutions to their problems. They are concentrating on sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry and nutrition. They also support work study scholarships for the youth who want to study beyond high school. Jeannie has led several delegations of people on a ten day journey to be present to the people of Chiapas.
