Like fine wine, this roundtable discussion with 8 Franciscan University of Steubenville students taking a podcasting class last Spring is ready to share - and is more enjoyable than ever. The third and final stop on our mini tour is the Digital Video Editing Lab where our students edit their video productions using Avid Media Composer software. You'll also catch a glimpse of one of our department's audio workstations. I shot this mini tour with my small digital photo camera on a day off, so you won't get to see any of our students. But they'll be back! (16.3 MB mp4 file)

Our mini tour of the Franciscan University of Steubenville Communication Arts Department's television production and editing facilities continues with a look inside our television studio. You'll see high broadcast quality equipment - shot with a consumer digital "still camera." (13.6 MB mp4 file)

Still to come: Our Avid Media Composer digital video editing lab, and in later tours we'll go across the hall to our radio/audio studio and station and to our multimedia lab.

We're testing some software and video equipment, and thought this short video "tour" of Franciscan University of Steubenville's TV Control Room would be fun to do. Even if your name isn't Mike, feel free to join the tour. I shot the video with my Canon digital "still" camera which is now about 3 years old. The footage is unedited - this is the real thing! (3:00, 9.5 MB mp4)

Later today or tomorrow I'll post a mini tour of the TV Studio itself, then we'll take a peek at our Avid Media Composer digital video editing lab.

Enjoy!

Direct from Prof. Coyle's home office, some thoughts and notes about information in Chapter 3 of "Media Now." The podcast is way too long, but it's a chance to hear about some things that struck this prof. while reading about media then and now. It's runs about half an hour and is a 20mb file, 'cause the audio program used wasn't compressing well enough.
